MERS responded to their 23rd call of 2009 @ 2:19pm, on Friday, June 5th. We responded for a horse that was down in a dry lot area, and could not get up. Upon our arrival, we placed our MERS head protector on the horse, and then quickly placed our MERS spreader bar onto the  special webbing that we had already put in place around the horse. With the assistance of the property owner’s tractor, we raised the horse up to an upright position. With our specialized equipment, this entire process took less than 10 minutes. The horse was walking in the pasture as we were leaving, and their veterinarian was notified.
